Buy a used car is not as fun as buying a new car, we all know it. I’ve been through three used car buying experience so far. The good news is that I have learned to negotiate better and even a little about cars. The bad news is … I wish I had known of the used car buying tips to know before now.
The Real Deal
Ok, so the real thing with buying used cars is to ensure that you do not get cheated or that you actually pay the seller says it’s worth. Here I’ll share with you some tips I learned from my experiences, but not limited to these. Ask people you know for more advice, because you never know who has had to deal with buying a used car.
- Make sure all lights work
- Get the engine checked by a trusted mechanic
- Look for oil leaks
- Turn off the radio, and lower windows, while driving test for unusual sounds

- Press the accelerator hard and quickly to see if the car responds well
- Pause to test drive breaks
- Check for broken seats up
- Try the speakers and radio and antenna reception (I once bought a used car that had the antenna but do not have a cable to connect the radio – of course I learned this later) />
These are just some tips for buying a used car. I’m pretty sure you can find much more, but I think those are essential elements in their checklist when buying a used car. You must be very careful because you do not want to issue a loan of used car and then the car turned out to be a piece of garbage, right?
